Anna Roberts served at the United States Agency for International Development for nine years, most recently as the Acting Program Division Lead for USAID’s Center for Education. In this capacity, she advised on USAID strategies and policies, oversaw the education budget portfolio, and managed partnerships with USG agencies, Congress, and the White House. With the Senior Coordinator for International Basic Education, she led the development of the U.S. Government Strategy on International Basic Education in 2017 and 2024.
Before joining USAID, Anna was the Director of Government Relations for the Basic Education Coalition from 2008-2016. During her time, she increased support for the Reinforcing Education Accountability in Development Act and the formation of the International Basic Education Caucus in the House of Representatives. Previous to this, she was the Senior Legislative Advisor for a member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee. Anna holds degrees in Political Science and International Affairs from Xavier University and is completing her Masters in Policy Leadership at Georgetown University.
