Background: The Administration has sent a Rescission Package to the Hill. The package cuts $2.5B from Development Assistance (64%) and $1.65B in Economic Support Funds (47.2%) in FY 2025 Funds. The House has passed the Bill and the Senate has a deadline of July 18.

Dear [Member Title and Name]:

My name is [First Name Last Name]. I worked for [Insert organization] [insert an overview of what your programs did and the impact that they had].

The Rescission Package under consideration in the Senate will diminish decades of U.S. progress. International education programs play a critical role in making America safer, stronger, and more prosperous. These programs equip young people with essential skills, reduce instability, and create economic opportunities that benefit both the United States and its allies. Targeted investments in education contribute to stronger diplomatic ties, reduce migration pressures, and create trading partners— reinforcing U.S. leadership in an era of growing geopolitical competition.

Unfortunately, the indiscriminate cuts to foreign assistance have cut every international education program, impacting learning for over 40 million children. We must retain America’s global leadership and continue our development support to global allies. This is why I ask that you vote NO on the rescissions package and maintain the original funding allocated by Congress.

Sincerely,

[First Name Last name]
