Membership Benefits & Dues

 

The Basic Education Coalition is the leading coalition of U.S.- based international development organizations working together to expand equitable access to quality basic education to each child. As the Coalition’s work is driven by the passion and experience of our member organizations, we aim to maintain a strong and diverse membership base committed to improving education for children around the world.

BEC provides its members with opportunities to engage in advocacy and actions in support of its mission through the collection and sharing of member perspectives, expertise and experience.

There are three options for membership:  full member, associate member, and affiliate. See Membership Benefits Factsheet.

Full membership is available to organizations engaged in basic education programs with an established and clear commitment to improving learning through expanded equitable access to quality basic education.  BEC offers its full members a range of benefits, including:

  • Voting member of Board of Directors;
  • Eligibility for role as BEC Officer/Executive Committee;
  • Opportunity to serve as chair/co-chair of Policy Working Groups;
  • Opportunity for engagement  with key Administration officials/Congressional Members;
  • Networking opportunities with Corporate Partners;
  • All benefits of associate membership (see below).

Dues:  $8,000- $15,000 annually, depending on revenue:

Associate membership is available to organizations engaged in basic education programs or policy work with an established and clear commitment to improving learning through expanded equitable access to quality basic education. BEC offers its associate members a range of benefits, including:

  • Advocacy:  appropriations, policy and legislative participation and input;
  • Participation in BEC Steering Group, Policy Working Groups;
  • Highlight of field-based programs in BEC’s Congressional Briefings via presentations and inclusion of program information;
  • Opportunity for members’ field representatives to meet with members of Congress through BEC-organized Hill meetings;
  • Successful programs highlighted in our advocacy and communications (website, newsletter, one-pagers);
  • Identification as associate member and link on BEC website;
  • Participation in BEC brownbag lunch series and other networking opportunities;
  • All benefits of affiliate membership (see below).

Dues:  $2,000 annually for policy-based organizations; $5,000 – $7,500 annually for program-based organizations, depending on revenue:

Affiliate membership is available to organizations or individuals with an established and clear commitment to expanding equitable access to quality basic education, including NGOs, advocacy organizations, think tanks, and others.  BEC offers its affiliate members a range of benefits, including:

  • Identification on BEC website;
  • Input to BEC newsletter to publicize events or developments;
  • Invitation to attend BEC public events.

Dues:  $500 annually
